TSCG meeting

The meeting will focus on the first release of the StratusLab. The main outcome of these first months is a gap identification of what we have and what is needed to include a Cloud Management layer in a Grid site. Also the developments of missing components will take place in WP6, the group will also coordinate the technical work across all the WPs.

• Modifications to the Agenda (to include any urgent technical issue)
• EGI-TF Summary 10'. A summary of feedback received in the demo. This will help as to identify things we are probably missing; and expectations from the community.
• Gap Analysis by Activity leaders20'(essentially WP4 and WP5). Now we have hands-on experience with the cloud/virtualization technologies of the project. What is missing?

EGI-TF

Overall there was a lot of interest in StratusLab, our presentations were received with a lot of interest and invitations to collaboration. Specially in the area of Accounting. We decided to postpone any further action till we release StratusLab 0.1. Also, we may want to identify contacts in EMI & EGI.

Gap Analysis

We feel that we are feature ready for StratusLab 0.1, we've to smooth some rough edges though. More specific:

• networking DHCP & DNS
• user management
• error diagnostics

Other important gaps are:

• Storage we need to evaluate the new OpenNebula 2.0 functionality that provides an Image repository. This new feature can be use as a starting point to improve StratusLab Storage service.
• Accounting/Monitoring, and its integration with current Grid Services and tools used by the sites.

Additionally we will establish a more closer collaboration loop between the development packages (WP4, WP6) and WP5. A weekly technical meeting will take place every Tuesday.

One of the main requests from our potential user base is a Cloud interface for the Grid site. This was initially scheduled for year 2 but we agreed to start working in it in the context of WP6. The Cloud interface should be integrated with the Grid security infrastructure.

StratusLab Distribution

StratusLab v0.1 will include the following components:

• Patched OpenNebula
• Quattor scripts
• Example images that can be use for testing and development
• Command Line Tools

Development of new Components

The Cloud interface will be developed in the context of WP6. WP4 is also willing to help with this development
