Description
Over the years, the standard model has been tested extensively, and it
was found to give a very good description of experimental results.
However, the Higgs boson, which is a consequence of the mechanism of
breaking of electroweak symmetry in the model, has not been observed
yet. The D0 and CDF collaborations are currently actively searching
for the Higgs boson, using Fermilab's Tevatron. In this seminar, an
overview will be given of recent Higgs boson search results from
D0. In addition, recent experimental results on W and Z boson
production are described. These electroweak measurements not only test
the standard model in regions where it was not probed before, but they
also provide import experimental inputs to other measurements at the
Tevatron and the LHC.
