SNOLAB : An International Facility for Underground Science

The Sudbury Neutrino Observatory (SNO) provided the solution to the longstanding Solar Neutrino Problem in 2001. Conceived in 1984 and funded in 1990 SNO recorded data between 1998 and 2006. Within a few months the remaining analysis topics will be finalized and the last set of papers submitted. Aside from the scientific body of work there is another very tangible legacy of the success of the SNO experiment, the creation of SNOLAB. Funded in 2002 this 40 M euros expansion of the SNO laboratory is now starting to provide space, 2 km underground, for the next generation of underground astroparticle physics experiments. This talk will recap the principle results of SNO, and will orient you to the new SNOLAB facilities, its scientific programme and the initial set of experiments.
