I will review the performance of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) achieved in the period 2010-12, including the main challenges encountered so far, as well as the plan for the next ten years with operation close to nominal energy, emphasizing possible issues and limitations. Then, looking beyond 2022, I will compare the full LHC luminosity upgrade ("High Luminosity LHC") with the alternative of performance-improving consolidations (PICs). The seminar will conclude with some ideas for future higher-energy hadron colliders ("High Energy LHC" and "Very High Energy LHC").
